Well, at the risk of repeating one too many times the short answer heard round the world last week (uttered by our newly minted Canadian Prime Minister), it’s high time for social equality between the sexes. Let’s think about things at their most basic level for the sake of this #1 reason, even if until recently men were said to be the stronger sex and women the weaker one, wouldn’t it make sense that as a strong powerful figure in this big bad world men would want to lift and support his more fragile companion?
Wouldn’t it be so commanding and grand of men around the world to demand equal opportunity, equal pay and equal social standing for all? We’re just sayin’.
#2: Because woman have backed men up for centuries.
Remember that old saying: behind every great man is a great woman?
Well women are not asking for men to stand behind them, they’re simply asking to stand besides them!
Let’s think about just for a sec, a world run not by girls (sorry Beyoncé) and not by men, but by both? A world, benefitting equally from masculine and feminine qualities… Hmmm, sounds like balance, right? Again, just sayin’.
#3: Because it makes economical sense.
As we reach levels of global financial unrest, dudes are gonna need their dames to be their partners. It’s not rocket science! The more we promote equality the more woman will earn their true worth and bring home more bacon (the vegan kind of course!)
#4: Because men have mothers
And sisters, and daughters! Sometimes it is hard to associate the crap that happens to many women out there with our own flesh and blood, but it does happen and no one is immune just cause she’s your fam bro! Working together means men standing up for and supporting all women in the name of their mamas!
#5: Doh! Because: Love, people!
This is the real love blog and we could not post an article without preaching the amazingness of loving someone so much that you truly want to help them reach their true potential. How do you love someone and keep them down? How do you love someone and tell them they can’t or shouldn’t reach their highest skies? Trust us your relationship will thrive and grow so much more when you support each other. And starting in 2015 there is no greater gift to offer your woman then your support and admiration of her goals.
